WEED CONTROL & PLANT CARE
Weed Control & Plant Care in South East London
Proactive border weeding, weed suppression, plant health monitoring and seasonal plant care. We protect your planting investment across Greenwich, Blackheath, Lewisham, Brockley and Nunhead.
Healthy plants. Weed-free borders.
Weeds compete with your plants for water, nutrients and light. Left unchecked, they can overwhelm even a well-designed planting scheme within a single season. Regular, proactive weed control is one of the most important things you can do to protect your garden.
Beyond weeding, our plant care service monitors the health of your planting on every visit — spotting pest and disease problems early, deadheading to extend flowering and ensuring every plant has the support it needs to thrive. We treat your garden as an investment worth protecting.
Weed control & plant care services
Border Weeding
Thorough hand-weeding of all planted borders. We remove weeds before they set seed, preventing the problem from compounding. Regular weeding keeps borders looking sharp and plants healthy.
Weed Suppression
Mulching with bark or organic matter suppresses weed growth, retains soil moisture and improves soil structure. Applied after weeding for long-lasting results.
Plant Health Management
Proactive monitoring for pests, disease and nutrient deficiencies. We spot problems early and advise on treatment before they spread — protecting your investment in planting.
Deadheading & Plant Care
Regular deadheading extends the flowering season. Staking, tying in and general plant care keeps your borders looking their best throughout the growing season.

How often should borders be weeded in a South East London garden?
During the growing season (April–October), borders benefit from weeding every 2–4 weeks. Regular, light weeding is far more effective than infrequent heavy sessions. We include border weeding in all our maintenance visit schedules.
Do you use chemical weed killers?
We prefer hand-weeding and mulching as our primary weed control methods. Where chemical treatment is appropriate (e.g. persistent perennial weeds like bindweed or Japanese knotweed), we will discuss this with you before applying anything.
What is included in plant care?
Plant care includes deadheading spent flowers, staking tall plants, tying in climbers, monitoring for pests and disease, and advising on any plants that are struggling. We treat your planting as an investment and manage it accordingly.
Can you deal with Japanese knotweed or other invasive plants?
Japanese knotweed requires specialist treatment and is subject to legal obligations. We can assess and advise, and refer you to a specialist contractor if required. Other invasive plants such as bindweed and ground elder can be managed through our regular maintenance programme.
Is weed control included in regular maintenance visits?
Yes. Border weeding is included as standard in all our regular maintenance visits. The frequency and thoroughness depends on the season and the condition of the borders.
